Pacific Youth Literature Review

The World Bank's Youth Engagement Strategy (YES) in the Pacific sub-region is focused on the labor productivity, economic competitiveness and social cohesion of youth in the Pacific. It is, however, recognized that there is a lack of baseline data and specific research on the social and economic effects of youth unemployment or under-employment in the Pacific. This literature review is therefore intended to be an initial step in determining what, if any, research is available to support strategy development and projects preparation, and to establish the basis for further analytic works, including the Pacific Sub-Regional Analytical and Advisory Activity (AAA) that is being initiated towards the end of calendar 2009.
