UN-Habitat’s I’m a City Changer Campaign - as featured in an earlier post on youthpolicy.org - challenges urbanites to contribute actively to creating ‘Good Cities for all’; aiming directly at ‘sensitizing and creating awareness among citizens on urban issues to achieve better cities’.
This mapping resource offers an open-source platform for today’s City Changers to share their urban projects; as well as an interactive resource enriching urban experiences for city dwellers globally.
In the earlier post I wrote that young people must be engaged and must themselves engage in imagining & reimagining tomorrows urban future; this resource is designed as a space to share and celebrate the fruits of this engagement.
With global cities predicted to absorb a growth of two-and-a-half billion people between now and 2050 urban change is and inevitability; the direction of this change depends on the strength and will of civic participation.
